Hello!

My name is Whitney and I write adult fantasy and romance stories.

I have always wanted to be a writer. My grandmother, an English teacher, taught me how to read at the ripe age of three and I have been sailing the seven seas, riding on the wings of dragons, and changing my fate by my own hand ever since then. I always looked up to writers and can organize chunks of my childhood memories by which author was my favorite at the time (I had quite the time in my Lemony Snicket era, IYKYK).

However, as I got older, people began to tell me that writing was not a "real job" and that I'd be out on the streets if I didn't "smarten up"... so I persued teaching instead (ohh the irony, I know). It wasn't until after I got my Master's in Linguistics that I realized that 1- it's important to do what makes YOU happy and 2- I'm no closer to being a millionaire playing by everyone else's rules, so I might as well play by my own. So with the power of insomnia and hyper focus, I wrote my first novella in three days. Yes, I'm serious, three days.

And since then, I've come up with over 50 book ideas, several of them being series lead ins, and I can't wait to follow my dreams and passion by continuing to write and give these characters a physical space to call their own (cause at this point, my brain is like New York's housing crisis- there is NO ROOM).

At the time of writing, I am still teaching 6th grade English at an online charter school while figuring out my own path to becoming a full time author. I live in Detroit and I enjoy musicals, time-jumping, I mean reading, and trying new recipes.
